  1.                   X-SHIP UTILITY FOR X-WING

  7. 1.  This is a shareware program designed to increase your
  8.     enjoyment of the LucasArts game "X-Wing." As you may be
  9.     aware, the game only allows you to fly one of three
  10.     different ships.  No more!!!  This utility will allow you
  11.     to custom design your own X-wing fighter.   There are
  12.     literally thousands of variations waiting to be flown.

  14. 2.  This utility will allow you change the following
  15.     characteristics of your X-Wing:
  16.     KTU, speed, RU (armor) factor, front shield strength,
  17.     rear shield strength, rate of pitch, rate of roll,
  18.     acceleration, type of missile (proton or concussion),
  19.     number of missiles, laser color (red or green).

  21. 3.  To use this program, the first important step is to make
  22.     a backup copy of your FLIGHT.OVL file (found in the
  23.     \XWING subdirectory).  Use the DOS command COPY
  24.     FLIGHT.OVL FLIGHT.ORI -this will make an exact duplicate
  25.     of your FLIGHT.OVL file called FLIGHT.ORI.  Next, simply
  26.     copy the file "XSHIP.EXE" into the \XWING subdirectory.
  27.     When you wish to use it, exit the game and type "XSHIP".
  28.     That's all there is to it.
  29.  
  30.     If you want to have exactly the "stock" X-Wing back and
  31.     aren't sure which numbers to use, or entered a wrong
  32.     number during the program, or have some other problem,
  33.     just answer "Y" to the initial question asked by the
  34.     program, "Do you want your X-Wing returned to factory
  35.     specifications."  It will be returned to normal.

  37.     Alternately,just go to the DOS prompt and type COPY
  38.     FLIGHT.ORI FLIGHT.OVL -this puts your original file back.
  39.     Everything is back to normal.

  41. 4.  This is a shareware program.  It was written in Turbo C
  42.     and took considerable effort.  I am using a concept
  43.     called "reasonable shareware."  I would gladly accept a
  44.     registration fee of $2.00 if you use this product and
  45.     find it to be worth the two dollars.  Let your conscience
